The Morning After
It was a lazy, relaxing, relative-free holiday which enabled us to escape from stress!
Did we all survive family gatherings? Hopefully, the stress was not as bad as we anticipated. I feel sorry for mixed (red and blue) families trying to tiptoe around the threat of Trump’s new circus.
My small family is 100% Blue, but even they opted to travel leaving us here happily relaxing on our own. It was such a gift! Our biggest stress was keeping our Christmas gift who came in September occupied from 6 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Our almost 6 month old Bernedoodle Winnie never stops! I must have played ball with her at least 5-6 times daily to wear her out! Teething is taxing! We own stock in Chewy and Petsmart. Bones, chew sticks, and refillable peanut butter bones and frozen chews. She’s not spoiled.
Sadly, Winnie has destroyed all of the tuff stuffed toys above. The tails go first, then the eyes and legs. When the stuffing begins to come out, it’s bye-bye toy. All we have left are rubber toys, balls, bones! The strange thing is that the destruction of stuffed toys didn’t start until about the 4th month when teething drove her wild. We think we are close to the end of it.
January 2nd will be a big day for Winnie. It’s spay time. Poor wee girl! We are hoping she can go without a medi-collar. I think she’ll have to be crated a lot during the recoup days. The vet said 14! Yikes! Will we survive? I hope she’ll calm down a bit after it’s all over. She’ll be able to walk on the street without all the male dogs chasing us at least!
So, now it’s time to get cleaning, re-arranging things thrown askew pre-holidays, and making honey-do lists. It would feel great if I could get my 2024 spring cleaning finished before spring 2025! Life gets in the way.
A special thank you to
for her wonderful hairy dog drawing🐾🐶🦴!
Thanks! I’ll check with Outward Hound.
